Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 8th district since 2019, has recently expressed her condolences and reflections on significant events through a series of tweets.
On June 5, 2025, Rep. Schrier mourned the tragic loss in Wenatchee, stating: “We are all mourning the loss of Paityn, Evelyn, and Olivia Decker with their mother, Whitney, and the entire Wenatchee community.”
The following day, on June 6, she commemorated a historic military event: “Today, on the 81st anniversary of D-Day, we remember and honor the bravery and sacrifices of the servicemembers who stormed the beaches of Normandy, forever changing the course of history.”
Later that same day, Rep. Schrier shared her condolences for another loss in her community: “I’m deeply saddened to learn of the death of Azjanae Brooks – a teenager from Snoqualmie – and send my heartfelt condolences to her friends, family, and community.”
Rep. Kim Schrier was born in Los Angeles in 1968 and currently resides in Sammamish. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
