Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., has utilized her platform on social media to communicate critical reminders and concerns to her constituents in Washington’s 8th District. Her focus ranges from tax filing deadlines to advocating against proposed Medicaid cuts that could impact vulnerable communities.

In a post dated April 15, 2025, Rep. Schrier issued a reminder that “today is the deadline to file your taxes!” She emphasized that Washington residents can file taxes for free using Direct File and included a link for more information.

Later that day, Rep. Schrier addressed proposed Medicaid cuts in another post concerns were raised that such cuts “would leave individuals with physical and developmental disabilities without the support they need.” She indicated that during a meeting with Disability Rights Washington, the critical impact of these cuts was discussed, and she reaffirmed her commitment to counteract the proposed measures.

On April 16, 2025, Rep. Schrier reminded local high school students that the deadline to submit their artwork for the Congressional Art Competition was imminent. Her announcement provided a reminder and encouraged students to participate, including a link to submit their artwork.

Rep. Kim Schrier has been representing Washington’s 8th District since succeeding Dave Reichert in 2019. She was born in Los Angeles, California, and later pursued her education at the University of California, Berkeley.
