Heat wave headed our way next week

Heat wave headed our way next week. Expect to see those high temps through the week. Please keep safety in mind if you’ll be headed to our rivers or lakes to cool off.

For those who are planning to tube:

Our river currents can be swift, cold and unexpectedly strong in places. Just because you put in at a gentle part of the river doesn’t mean the same conditions exist further down.

Know your route before you get on the river — ask a local where it’s just not safe to tube. Get out if you see rapids.

Pool toys are not appropriate for a tube down our rivers. If you are unsure of what to use, consider going with a professional outfit that has the correct tubes.

Don’t get drunk on the river. The river is a moving, wild thing. It needs your attention.

Wear a life jacket. Wear a life jacket. Wear a life jacket.
