Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., currently representing Washington’s 8th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on her Twitter account addressing issues ranging from economic pressures on families to support for Tribal colleges and a congratulatory note to the Seattle Seahawks.
On February 8, 2026, Schrier expressed concern over economic challenges faced by American families: “From skyrocketing healthcare premiums to the high costs of groceries, working families are getting squeezed while the Trump Administration and Congressional Republicans cut taxes for billionaires. This is outrageous – Americans deserve better.”
Later that day, she highlighted her engagement with students and faculty at Northwest Indian College: “Earlier this week, I had the chance to meet with @NWIndianCollege students and faculty to discuss the importance of continued federal support for Tribal colleges and communities.”
On February 9, 2026, Schrier celebrated a sports achievement by tweeting: “We did it! Super Bowl champs! Congrats @Seahawks!”
Schrier has represented Washington’s 8th District since 2019 after succeeding Dave Reichert. She was born in Los Angeles in 1968 and resides in Sammamish. Schrier holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley (https://bioguide.congress.gov/search/bio/S001218).
