Kim Schrier, M.D., currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 8th district, shared a series of updates via social media regarding her recent activities and views on national issues. Schrier, who has been a congressional representative since 2019, continues to engage with local communities and express her stance on key policies.
On July 6, Rep. Schrier tweeted about her meeting with Maple Valley Police Chief Lockhart. She noted the discussion centered around enhancing public safety and supporting local law enforcement efforts to ensure community security. “It was great to meet with Maple Valley Police Chief Lockhart this week to discuss how we can work together to bolster public safety and support local law enforcement to keep our communities safe.”
The following day, July 7, Schrier criticized the healthcare policies of the Trump Administration through another tweet. She stated that these policies are detrimental to public health by promoting anti-vaccine conspiracy theories and reducing funding for essential research and healthcare programs. According to her post, “The Trump Administration’s healthcare agenda is Making America Sick Again.”
Later on July 7, Rep. Schrier acknowledged National Park and Recreation Month in a separate tweet. She expressed gratitude for the valuable public lands and recreational spaces within her district and state while pledging continued efforts towards their protection. In her words: “Happy National Park and Recreation Month! We are very fortunate to live in district and state with treasured public lands, parks, and recreational spaces.”
As a background note, Kim Schrier was born in Los Angeles in 1968 and currently resides in Sammamish. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
