Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 8th district, recently shared updates through her social media platform. Schrier, who has been serving since 2019 after succeeding Dave Reichert, frequently engages with her constituents and shares insights into her legislative activities.

On June 16, 2025, Rep. Schrier announced that her office is accepting applications for fall internships. She emphasized the application deadline: “My office is currently accepting applications for our fall 2025 internship! The application deadline is July 7th. Apply today at the link below!” Interested individuals are encouraged to apply via the provided link.

Later on June 16, Rep. Schrier highlighted a meeting with Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), expressing enthusiasm about discussing health care services for veterans: “It was great to meet with @PVA1946 last week to discuss the importance of protecting specialized health care services through the VA and improving Veterans’ access to long-term health care and financial security programs.”

On June 17, Rep. Schrier recognized two Congressional Gold Medalists from Washington state in Washington D.C.: “It was fantastic to honor two of our WA Congressional Gold Medalists, Smera and Mihika, in D.C. last week.” She commended their initiative “Meaningful Actions,” which supports premature infants and organizes community activities.

Rep. Kim Schrier was born in Los Angeles in 1968 and resides in Sammamish. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
