Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., currently serving as the U.S. Congresswoman for Washington’s 8th district, has taken to social media to address recent actions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and share her weekly update.

On January 24, 2026, Schrier posted a link to her newsletter: “Here is this week’s Schrier Flyer! https://t.co/QN7hdTirFc”.

Later that day, she commented on ICE’s conduct following a fatal incident involving the agency. On January 24, she wrote: “This is outrageous. ICE is out of control—acting with reckless violence and impunity that has caused the death of another US citizen. ICE has lost all credibility. Their actions are making us less safe and undermining the important role of local law enforcement in fighting crime.”

The following day, on January 25, Schrier addressed public reaction to video footage from Minnesota: “Americans—regardless of their political party—have seen videos of yesterday’s horrifying incident in Minnesota. It is a pattern we have seen with our own eyes.

The ICE officers who engaged in this violence are not immune. No one is above the law—their actions must be”.

Schrier has represented Washington’s 8th District since 2019 after succeeding Dave Reichert in Congress. Born in Los Angeles in 1968 and now residing in Sammamish, she holds a BS from the University of California, Berkeley.
