Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Washington’s 8th district, shared updates on her recent meetings and policy concerns through a series of posts on social media in early November 2025.
On November 5, Rep. Schrier posted about her advocacy efforts for pediatric cancer research and healthcare access after meeting with Blood Cancer United in Washington, D.C., stating: “I had a great meeting in DC with @BloodCancerUtd to discuss the importance of advocating for cancer research funding and healthcare access for kids. Thank you for all you do!”
The following day, she addressed local agricultural priorities after engaging with farmers and producers from her district: “I met with local farmers and producers this week to discuss local agricultural priorities. I look forward to continuing to support farmers in #WA08 and across the country!” (November 6).
Later that same day, Rep. Schrier commented on the impact of an ongoing government shutdown affecting air traffic controllers’ paychecks and flight schedules at major airports such as Sea-Tac: “For over a month, air traffic controllers have been going without paychecks due to the shutdown. And now, Trump’s FAA is ordering a reduction in flights coming to and from major airports—including Sea-Tac.
It doesn’t have to be this way. I urge my colleagues to return to DC and” (November 6).
Rep. Schrier has represented Washington’s 8th District since 2019, succeeding Dave Reichert in Congress. She was born in Los Angeles in 1968, earned her BS from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991, and currently resides in Sammamish.
