Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 8th district since 2019, has recently highlighted her engagement with constituents and local initiatives through a series of posts on social media.
On August 16, 2025, Schrier shared her meeting with wine grape growers in Chelan, emphasizing their contribution to the regional economy and agriculture sector: “I recently met with wine grape growers in Chelan to discuss how their work is strengthening local economies and boosting our agriculture sector here in Washington.”
The following day, on August 17, she encouraged student participation in a national technology competition: “Middle and High Schoolers in #WA08, the 2025 Congressional App Challenge is open for registration! Design an original app for a chance to have it featured in the U.S. Capitol for one year. The deadline to submit an application is October 30th. More here: https://t.co/1bEDuRyKhr”
On August 18, Schrier posted about discussions with Granite Falls officials regarding infrastructure and education: “It was great to connect with Granite Falls Mayor Hartman, City Manager Balentine, and Superintendent Geaslen to get an update on the city’s key infrastructure projects and discuss how to solve challenges facing local schools.”
Schrier has served as representative for Washington’s 8th District since succeeding Dave Reichert in 2019. Born in Los Angeles in 1968 and currently residing in Sammamish, she holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
