Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a U.S. Congresswoman representing Washington’s 8th district since 2019, posted several updates on January 14, 2026, regarding her recent legislative work and public engagements.

On the evening of January 13, Schrier highlighted her participation in a community event focused on disaster recovery. She wrote, “Tonight, I was joined by @waEMD and the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner for a telephone town hall to discuss flood assistance and recovery resources available for Washingtonians impacted by last month’s storms. I also had the chance to answer questions about https://t.co/NQsctljoxH” (January 14, 2026).

Later that day, Schrier thanked a media host for an opportunity to address public health issues and misinformation. She stated, “Thank you, @ZerlinaMornings, for having me on to talk about public health, the dangers of vaccine misinformation that is being spread by RFK Jr., and my work on the Democratic Doctors Caucus! In another post from January 14, Schrier announced legislative progress related to child nutrition: “BIG NEWS: My bipartisan legislation to improve children’s nutrition – the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act – was signed into law today! I am proud to support this commonsense legislation that will help make school lunches more nutritious and filling for children across the” (January 14, 2026).

Schrier has represented Washington’s 8th District since succeeding Dave Reichert in Congress in 2019. Born in Los Angeles in 1968 and currently residing in Sammamish, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
