Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 8th district since 2019, recently posted a series of updates on social media regarding infrastructure projects, Social Security, and healthcare insurance costs.

On August 13, 2025, Schrier highlighted her involvement in local infrastructure development: “I had a great meeting with Douglas and Chelan County officials to discuss the completion of the Apple Capital Loop in Wenatchee. I was proud to secure critical federal funding for this project that is creating jobs, improving infrastructure, and boosting local economies across”.

The following day, August 14, she commemorated an important anniversary for American social programs: “90 years ago today, President Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act into law, and ever since it has provided critical financial security to millions of Americans. All Americans deserve to access their hard-earned Social Security benefits, especially as the Trump Administration”.

Later on August 14, Schrier addressed concerns about rising healthcare insurance costs: “This fall, you will be notified that your healthcare insurance costs will skyrocket starting in 2026, all because of Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans passing the Big Ugly Bill that puts billionaires before everyday Americans. This is outrageous. Call my office or click”.

Schrier succeeded Dave Reichert in Congress and has served since 2019 as the representative for Washington’s 8th District. She was born in Los Angeles in 1968 and currently resides in Sammamish. Schrier holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley (1991).
