Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 8th district since 2019, recently shared updates on legislative developments and community events through her social media posts.

On July 15, 2025, Schrier announced the passage of her bipartisan bill in the House, stating: “GREAT NEWS: My bipartisan bill to improve efficiency and transparency in the hydropower relicensing process passed the House this week! As energy demand continue to goes through the roof, the bill will help us meet the moment by streamlining this process.”

The following day, July 16, 2025, Schrier addressed concerns from constituents regarding recent legislation: “I have heard from thousands of folks across #WA08 who are worried about what the recent passage of Republicans’ Big Ugly Bill will mean for their access to healthcare, food assistance, and other critical programs. Here are just a handful. I will keep fighting to protect”

On July 17, 2025, she highlighted participation in a charity softball game: “Big win for team Congress at this year’s @CWSoftballGame! Proud to have joined my colleagues and members of the press to raise money for @YSCBuzz, a non-profit that supports young adults impacted by breast cancer. Better luck next year, #BadNewsBabes!”

Schrier has served as Washington’s 8th District representative since succeeding Dave Reichert in 2019. She was born in Los Angeles in 1968 and currently resides in Sammamish. Schrier earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991.
