U.S. Representative Kim Schrier, M.D., currently serving Washington’s 8th district in Congress, posted a series of updates on social media between August 20 and August 21, 2025, highlighting legislative concerns, local infrastructure developments, and her community engagement efforts.

On August 20, 2025, Schrier criticized proposed Medicaid cuts in Congress: “The Big Ugly Bill makes the most significant cut to Medicaid in American history, hurting members across our community. Schrier has represented Washington’s 8th District since replacing Dave Reichert in 2019. She was born in Los Angeles in 1968 and resides in Sammamish. Before her political career, she earned her BS from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991.
