Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 8th district, highlighted her recent activities and advocacy efforts in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) between August 10 and August 11, 2025.
In an August 10 post marking National Immunization Awareness Month, Schrier, who is also a pediatrician, reiterated her support for vaccines and addressed ongoing misinformation. She stated: “August is National Immunization Awareness Month! As a pediatrician, I can tell you that vaccines are safe, effective, and have saved countless lives. I will continue to stand up for science and fight against the misinformation and attacks on our healthcare coming from RFK Jr.” (posted August 10, 2025).
Later the same day, Schrier described her engagement with local library leaders in Issaquah. She wrote: “I had a wonderful time joining local library community leaders at @KCLS in Issaquah to hear about the work they are doing and the importance of protecting vital public library services.” (posted August 10, 2025).
On August 11, Schrier shared details about her visit with Granite Falls Fire personnel. According to her post: “I had a fantastic meeting with members of Granite Falls Fire, where I took a tour of their new fire station, learned more about the training programs that they’re developing, and discussed priorities I can advocate for in Congress that will support their critical work back home” (posted August 11, 2025).
Schrier has served as the U.S. Representative for Washington’s 8th District since replacing Dave Reichert in 2019. She was born in Los Angeles in 1968 and currently resides in Sammamish. Schrier holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
