Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 8th district since 2019, recently posted several updates on her social media account reflecting on the new year and commenting on foreign policy developments.
On January 2, 2026, Schrier shared a message marking the start of the new year: “Today we celebrate new beginnings and the potential of the year ahead. Wishing you happiness in 2026 and a great start to the year! https://t.co/OGbgYYkPZx”.
Later that day, she posted another update highlighting a regular communication with constituents: “Here is December’s Schrier Flyer! https://t.co/WRuhplb8HE”.
On January 3, 2026, Schrier addressed international affairs and U.S. foreign policy regarding Venezuela: “While Maduro is an illegitimate and dangerous dictator who has made life terrible for Venezuelans, President Trump should not be dragging us into another foreign conflict without consultation and consent from Congress. After promising no new wars, he launched a large-scale”.
Schrier’s comments come as she continues her tenure in Congress after replacing Dave Reichert in 2019. She was born in Los Angeles in 1968 and resides in Sammamish. Her educational background includes earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991.
