U.S. Representative Kim Schrier, M.D., has used her social media platform to update constituents on severe weather conditions affecting Washington’s 8th District. Schrier, who has represented the district since 2019, posted several updates in December regarding the storm’s impact and ongoing response efforts.
On December 10, Schrier informed followers: “My team is continuing to monitor conditions in the Eighth District as severe weather continues to impact our community. Please visit the below link for updated information on road closures, flood shelter locations, and other helpful resources. Our office will continue to update”.
The following day, she highlighted bipartisan cooperation within the state delegation: “Proud to join my Washington Delegation colleagues in a bipartisan effort to move quickly to get critical resources and aid to communities that have been impacted by this storm. I urge the Trump Administration to approve this request to help our state recover and keep https://t.co/5SJ2Ms5fgt” (December 11).
Later on December 11, Schrier provided further guidance for residents seeking real-time information or assistance: “For live updates and helpful resources on storm conditions across Washington state, visit the article below. If you need immediate help, call 911. Our office is continuing to monitor conditions and will update our website as additional resources become available: https://t.co/yK9Ok6IKOv”.
Schrier currently serves in Congress representing Washington’s 8th District after replacing Dave Reichert in 2019. She was born in Los Angeles in 1968 and now resides in Sammamish. Schrier holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
