Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a U.S. Congresswoman representing Washington’s 8th District since 2019, has been actively engaging with her constituents through social media platforms. In recent tweets, she addressed issues ranging from veteran recognition to healthcare and equal pay.

On March 24, 2025, Rep. Schrier expressed her honor in presenting commemorative pins to two local Vietnam Veterans, Jeffry Culver and Rex MacLean. She encouraged other Vietnam Veterans to reach out to her office if they wish to receive a pin as well. “I was honored to present two local Vietnam Veterans, Jeffry Culver and Rex MacLean, with commemorative pins to thank them for their service to our nation.”

In another tweet dated March 25, 2025, Rep. Schrier criticized Elon Musk’s stance on budget balancing and tax breaks at the expense of Medicaid funding. As a medical professional herself, she vowed to oppose any such cuts that would adversely affect patient care. “Make no mistake: Elon Musk doesn’t care about balancing the budget.”

Later on March 25, Rep. Schrier highlighted ongoing wage disparities between men and women in the workplace. She reiterated her commitment alongside her colleagues in the Democratic Women’s Caucus to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act for equitable compensation regardless of gender. “It’s 2025, and women are still earning less than men for the same work.”
