Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., who represents Washington’s 8th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on her recent activities in a series of posts between August 28 and August 29, 2025.

On August 28, Schrier highlighted her visit to a local event: “Some of the best produce in the country comes from Washington state, and I was able to sample some of these fresh goods and meet with local farmers and small business owners at the Sammamish Farmers Market.” The following evening, she commented on developments within federal public health leadership: “RFK Jr. and this Administration are forcing out top CDC officials who refuse to rubber stamp RFK Jr.’s vaccine recommendations, which are based on fringe theories, not sound science. It is outrageous. This is yet another chip in the mortar to the strength of our public health”. On August 29, Schrier noted a stop at a local business: “Stopped by to get a latte at D&M Coffee – one of our wonderful, locally-owned cafes in #WA08 – after a busy day meeting with constituents in the area!”

Schrier has represented Washington’s 8th District since 2019, succeeding Dave Reichert. She was born in Los Angeles in 1968 and currently resides in Sammamish. Schrier holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
