Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 8th district, has recently shared several updates on her activities and reflections through social media posts.

On March 15, 2025, Rep. Schrier expressed her satisfaction in attending the Golden Shovel Ceremony for the Orting Bridge for Kids. She stated: “Happy to attend the Golden Shovel Ceremony for the Orting Bridge for Kids! I’m proud to have secured $1 million in federal funding for this bridge, which will help children in the community safely get to school and will serve as an evacuation route in case of a lahar.”

The following day, March 16, 2025, she highlighted her engagement with local agricultural research efforts. She remarked: “It was great to speak with members of the Northwest Center for Small Fruits Research to go over their research progress, funding needs, and the challenges facing our small fruit industries like blueberries, raspberries, grapes, and more.”

On March 17, 2025, Rep. Schrier conveyed her sorrow over the passing of Congresswoman Nita Lowey. She shared: “I’m heartbroken to learn that the world has lost Congresswoman Nita Lowey, one of the kindest, hardest working, and devoted Members of Congress I’ve had the privilege to work with. She was like family…”
