Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 8th district since 2019, has recently expressed her views on various pressing issues through social media posts. Schrier, who succeeded Dave Reichert and resides in Sammamish, Washington, often discusses topics related to federal funding and public services.

On March 11, 2025, Rep. Schrier addressed concerns regarding proposed cuts to federal funding for law enforcement and veterans’ services. She stated: “I stand with our law enforcement officers and Veterans who put their lives on the line for this country, and won’t cut funding they deserve. This GOP funding bill cuts 37% of federal funding for local police departments, and withholds $23 billion from Veterans.”

The following day, March 12, 2025, she shared an update about her meeting with representatives from CDCAC65 in North Central Washington. She mentioned: “I met with representatives from @CDCAC65 to get updates on their important work to serve those in North Central Washington, including through their food distribution center in Wenatchee, for which I helped secure $3 million in federal funding.”

Later that same day, Schrier commented on employment issues within the Forest Service under the Trump Administration’s policies: “While I am glad illegally fired Forest Service employees are being brought back… The Trump Administration is still planning to fire 30% of the people who prevent catastrophic wildfires…”
