Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., who represents Washington’s 8th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed a range of policy issues and constituent concerns in a series of posts on her official Twitter account between December 20 and December 21, 2025.
On December 20, Rep. Schrier shared information related to disaster relief and flood insurance with her constituents: “Here is this week’s Schrier Flyer, with disaster relief and flood insurance information.”
Later that day, she commented on rising healthcare costs following legislative inaction by Congressional Republicans: “My constituents like Kari will see their healthcare prices skyrocket in January because Republicans in Congress failed to extend the critical tax credits that ensure so many Americans can afford healthcare. I will continue to fight tooth and nail to bring costs down.”
On December 21, Rep. Schrier highlighted her support for national security initiatives through bipartisan legislation: “Earlier this month, I voted to pass the bipartisan NDAA that makes vital investments to bolster our national security at home and abroad, and support those brave service members who protect our country. You can read more about the legislation here:”
Schrier has served as the U.S. Representative for Washington’s 8th District since 2019 after succeeding Dave Reichert. She was born in Los Angeles in 1968 and currently resides in Sammamish. Schrier earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991.
