Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 8th district, has been active on social media sharing updates and greetings with her constituents. Schrier, who replaced Dave Reichert in 2019, has been vocal about local issues and community events.
On July 3, 2025, Rep. Schrier expressed her leadership role in a collective effort to seek explanations from President Trump regarding the denial of federal disaster assistance to Washington following last November’s bomb cyclone. She stated, “I’m proud to lead my colleagues in sending a letter demanding answers from President Trump for denying federal disaster assistance to Washington after last November’s bomb cyclone.” She emphasized that communities are still affected by the damage and deserve responses.
The following day, July 4, 2025, she extended festive wishes to her constituents celebrating Independence Day. In her message, she said “Happy 4th of July! Wishing everyone in the Eighth District a safe and festive Independence Day.”
Later on July 4, Rep. Schrier shared an update titled “Schrier Flyer,” which is presumably a regular communication with her constituents. The tweet simply stated “Here is this week’s Schrier Flyer!”
Born in Los Angeles in 1968 and residing in Sammamish now at age 54, Schrier graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1991.
