Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a U.S. Congresswoman representing Washington’s 8th district, addressed several issues in recent posts on her social media account, including disaster relief for storm-affected residents and concerns over proposed changes to childhood vaccination schedules.
On January 9, 2026, Schrier posted about ongoing recovery efforts following severe storms and flooding in her district: “As our communities in WA-08 continue to recover from last month’s historic storms and flooding, assistance is available for Washingtonians whose homes and property were damaged. Please visit the resources page below for disaster relief and insurance information. If you have”.
The following day, January 10, she shared a regular update with constituents: “Here is this week’s Schrier Flyer! https://t.co/EbuY1BPPNL”.
Later on January 10, Schrier criticized Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s proposals regarding childhood vaccinations: “RFK Jr.’s outrageous decision to make unfounded, sweeping changes to the childhood vaccination schedule will cause children to get sick, be hospitalized, and potentially die, particularly from rotavirus, RSV, and the flu. Parents: Please listen to your pediatrician, not RFK Jr.”
Schrier has served as the representative of Washington’s 8th District since replacing Dave Reichert in 2019. She was born in Los Angeles in 1968 and currently resides in Sammamish. Schrier earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991.
