Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a U.S. Congresswoman representing Washington’s 8th district since 2019, shared several updates via social media regarding her office’s activities and community engagements.

On July 5, 2025, Rep. Schrier invited students and recent graduates to apply for fall internships with her offices in Washington D.C. or Issaquah. She reminded potential applicants of the approaching deadline: “The deadline to apply for the fall 2025 internship with my DC or Issaquah office is this Monday, July 7th.” Interested individuals were encouraged to apply today at the link below.

Later that day, she emphasized the importance of local organizations in addressing community needs by highlighting her meeting with a food bank: “Organizations like the Maple Valley Food Bank play a critical role in providing essential nutrition to our community.” Rep. Schrier noted her commitment to supporting such efforts after learning about their challenges during a recent visit through.

On July 6, Rep. Schrier shared a success story from her office’s constituent services: “My office recently helped Keith from Eatonville resolve an issue with the Social Security Administration.” She encouraged others needing assistance with federal agencies like the IRS or VA to reach out for help here.

Born in Los Angeles in 1968, Kim Schrier holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley and resides in Sammamish.
