Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 8th district since 2019, used her social media platform this week to criticize recent actions and decisions made by members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) appointed by Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
On December 4, 2025, Schrier wrote: “Today, RFK Jr.’s ACIP appointees once again showcased just how unqualified and ill-equipped they are for the job. Members were unaware of the votes they were taking, presented incomplete, cherry-picked data, and could not answer basic questions about the childhood vaccine”.
The following day, Schrier addressed a specific policy decision in another post dated December 5, 2025: “My statement on today’s dangerous ACIP decision to stop recommending the birth dose of the hepatitis B vaccine.”
Later that same day, she shared a regular update with her constituents: “Here is this week’s Schrier Flyer! https://t.co/96jkbAWA33”
Schrier’s comments follow growing national debate over vaccine policy changes and committee appointments under RFK Jr.’s leadership. The ACIP is responsible for making recommendations regarding immunizations in the United States.
Dr. Kim Schrier has served in Congress since succeeding Dave Reichert in 2019 and represents communities across Washington’s 8th district. She was born in Los Angeles in 1968 and currently resides in Sammamish. Schrier holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
