Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., who represents Washington’s 8th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently highlighted her ongoing engagement with constituents and local businesses through a series of posts on social media.

On August 24, 2025, Schrier shared details about her visit to small businesses in Cashmere: “I recently visited local businesses on Side Street in Cashmere, like Gaucho Coffee, and heard directly from small business owners about how I can continue to support them in Congress.”

The following day, she addressed concerns over proposed legislative changes that could impact healthcare affordability for her constituents. On August 25, 2025, she posted: “Republicans’ Big Ugly Bill will skyrocket healthcare insurance costs as critical tax credits expire in 128 days. This includes over 22K people in my district who rely on these credits to get lifesaving care. My constituents and all Americans deserve better.”

Continuing her outreach efforts, Schrier thanked attendees at a recent public event. On August 26, 2025, she wrote: “Thank you to the over 100 constituents who showed up to my town hall in North Bend last night! It was fantastic to get to hear directly from you all and answer your questions about everything from healthcare access and social security to forest service funding.”

Schrier has represented Washington’s 8th District since replacing Dave Reichert in 2019. She is originally from Los Angeles and currently resides in Sammamish. Schrier earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991.
