Rep. Kim Schrier, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 8th district, recently shared updates on her activities engaging with both constituents and local businesses via her Twitter profile. Schrier, who succeeded Dave Reichert in 2019, provided insights into her recent town hall meeting, visits with business owners, and advocacy against policy changes impacting community services.
On April 27, 2025, Schrier highlighted the significance of engaging with individuals in her community, stating: “Hearing directly from my constituents is one of the most important parts of my job. That’s why I visited University House Issaquah to host a town hall for local seniors and answer their questions on issues like Medicare, Social Security, and more.”
In a tweet on April 28, 2025, Schrier discussed her visit to local businesses, mentioning, “I recently had the chance to pay a visit to two local businesses in Fall City – MOOO! Ice Cream and Fall City Bar & Grill – to meet with the owners, hear about the unique challenges their small businesses face, and discuss ways I can support their work in Congress.”
Further, Schrier touched upon her meeting with a local charity on the same day, expressing her concern over potential cuts affecting community support programs by tweeting, “I met with Plateau Outreach Ministries to learn how their work to provide members of our community with essential needs is impacted by TEFAP cuts and proposed Medicaid cuts, assure them that I’m fighting against these actions in Congress, and volunteer sorting and restocking food.”
Kim Schrier, aged 54, was born in Los Angeles, California. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley in 1991 and currently resides in Sammamish.
