Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., who represents Washington’s 8th congressional district, posted a series of updates on her official Twitter account addressing disaster relief, fuel prices, and education advocacy.

On May 12, Rep. Schrier informed constituents about the approaching deadline for federal disaster assistance following last December’s storms. She wrote: “Important Update for #WA08: Washington residents who were impacted by last December’s storms have one month to apply for FEMA assistance! Apply for assistance online at https://t.co/EYLCDiwFJK or by calling 800-621-3362 by June 10, 2026. You can also find Disaster Assistance”.

The next day, May 13, she addressed rising fuel costs and legislative efforts to counteract them. In her post, she stated: “Americans are being crushed by skyrocketing prices at the pump because of Trump’s war with Iran. We need to act now to prevent Big Oil from raising prices even more, which is why I introduced the Lower Prices at the Pump Act to protect Americans from price gouging. On May 14, Rep. Schrier thanked an education group for their visit and advocacy work: “Thank you to the Public School Employees of Washington group who stopped by my office to talk about how important early childhood education and school nutrition programs are for #WA08. Thanks for your advocacy for our students and teachers! https://t.co/Wvr0tVYcZb”.
