Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a member of the U.S. House of Representatives for Washington’s 8th district, used her social media platform to highlight recent legislative efforts and constituent services in early May 2026.
On May 2, Schrier announced the inclusion of her conservation-focused bill in major agricultural legislation, stating, “My ENABLE Conservation Act will help farmers restore unused land to its natural habitat – giving our growers additional income while protecting endangered species. I am proud that this bill was included in the Farm Bill that just passed the House!” The ENABLE Conservation Act aims to incentivize farmers to rehabilitate fallow land, contributing both economic and environmental benefits.
The following day, Schrier criticized Republican lawmakers over healthcare policy decisions. In a post dated May 3, she wrote, “Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress decided to give tax handouts to billionaires instead of helping Americans afford healthcare. Now, millions of Americans are unable to access the care they need. This is unacceptable. I will keep fighting to lower costs for #WA08.” Her comments reflect ongoing partisan debate about federal tax and healthcare policy.
Later on May 3, Schrier addressed students in her district regarding opportunities for military academy nominations: “Reminder for Eighth District students: If you would like to apply to a service academy, my office is now accepting applications for military academy nominations. The deadline to apply is October 31st. To learn more, please follow the link below!”
Schrier has represented Washington’s 8th congressional district since first being elected in 2018 and frequently uses digital platforms to communicate legislative updates and services available through her office.
