Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 8th district since 2019, recently shared updates on federal funding and community engagement through a series of posts on her social media account.
On August 18, 2025, Schrier announced the allocation of federal funds to support local initiatives for the Snoqualmie Tribe. She wrote, “I am proud to have secured federal funding for the Snoqualmie Tribe’s new harvest kitchen and greenhouse, which will give parents access to dependable childcare and provide children with an early education that sets them up for success in school and beyond.”
The following day, Schrier highlighted her visit to a local bakery in Duvall before meeting with constituents. In her post dated August 19, 2025, she stated, “I just took a pit stop at Grateful Bread in Duvall before a constituent meeting. Fueling up with a raspberry scone for me and bringing home cinnamon rolls for Sam and David! https://t.co/sLEN58t7JM”
Later that same day, Schrier addressed public health concerns regarding vaccines. Drawing on her background as a pediatrician, she posted on August 19, 2025: “Time and time again, it has been shown that vaccines are safe, effective, and prevent severe illness, hospitalization, and death in children. As a pediatrician, I followed the guidance of scientific experts like these to inform my decisions and urge parents to do the same.”
Schrier has served in Congress since succeeding Dave Reichert in 2019. Born in Los Angeles in 1968 and currently residing in Sammamish, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991.
