Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., U.S. Representative for Washington’s 8th Congressional District, highlighted recent community projects and initiatives in a series of posts on her Twitter account.
On May 6, 2026, Schrier wrote about securing federal funding for local infrastructure improvements: “I was proud to join Mayor Vesey to celebrate the over $1 million in federal dollars I secured for Carbonado’s new reservoir. This project will make sure our communities always have access to clean water, replace the existing unstable infrastructure, and protect our fish”.
The following day, on May 7, she acknowledged the work of local first responders: “I met with the National Parks Service search and rescue first responders in Enumclaw, who serve all three parks in Washington state. It was so impressive to observe their training! Thank you for your tireless efforts to keep visitors safe, especially as we head into the busy”.
Later that same day, Schrier announced progress on a food security initiative: “Yesterday, the 11th GoodRoots Northwest fresh food locker opened in Buckley! I am so proud to have secured federal funding for food lockers across #WA08, which deliver fresh produce and protein to those in need. These lockers are especially important for working families and”.
Schrier’s efforts reflect broader priorities within her district—such as improving critical infrastructure like water systems and supporting programs that address food insecurity. As a member of Congress representing an area with significant rural and suburban populations as well as national parklands, Schrier has emphasized federal investment in local projects designed to benefit public health and safety.
