Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., who represents Washington’s 8th congressional district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted her community engagement efforts through a series of posts on social media.

On February 1, 2026, Schrier posted about a meeting with local educators: “I met with folks from the Sumner Bonney Lake School District ahead of their building bridges event this week! We talked about the importance of funding education, and their key role in helping our communities during last month’s devastating floods.”

Later that same day, she shared details from another visit: “This week, I stopped by @TPCHD to tour their community resource center and discuss their projects for the new year. Thank you for keeping our community healthy!”

On February 2, 2026, Schrier marked Black History Month with a message: “Black history is American history. This month and every month, we honor the contributions of Black Americans and reflect on the resilient history that defines our nation.”

Schrier has represented Washington’s 8th district since replacing Dave Reichert in 2019. She was born in Los Angeles in 1968 and resides in Sammamish. Schrier earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991.
