Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a U.S. Congresswoman representing Washington’s 8th district, announced on social media that her bipartisan legislation to improve school lunch quality and nutrition has passed the House and is now headed to the president for signature.
On December 15, 2025, Schrier wrote, “Today, my bipartisan legislation to improve the quality and nutrition of school lunches passed the House and is headed to the president’s desk to be signed into law! As a pediatrician, I know that ensuring that our kids have access to a healthy diet is fundamental to their”.
The following day, she provided updates regarding severe weather in Central Washington. On December 16, 2025, she stated, “Last night, I spoke with Mayor Florea to learn more about storm conditions in Leavenworth and across Central Washington. Later that day on December 16, Schrier commented on additional legislative progress: “Glad to join @CongressmanGT to celebrate the passage of our bipartisan Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act! This commonsense legislation will improve children’s nutrition across the country, and I am eager to see it signed into law.”
Kim Schrier has represented Washington’s 8th District in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Dave Reichert. A trained pediatrician born in Los Angeles in 1968 who currently resides in Sammamish, Schrier graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1991.
