Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a member of the U.S. House of Representatives for Washington’s 8th congressional district, recently shared several updates on her official social media account addressing community events and local initiatives.
On April 14, 2026, Schrier extended holiday greetings to her constituents by posting: “Happy Vaisakhi! Wishing all celebrating in #WA08 a joyful holiday spent with friends and family.”
Later that day, she acknowledged the work of a local organization supporting families experiencing homelessness. In her tweet dated April 14, 2026, she stated: “Vision House provides critical services for homeless families and youth in Washington state. Thank you for the recent tour of your campus, and for your work to ensure every child in #WA08 has a home.” Vision House is known for its efforts to assist homeless families and youth through housing programs and support services in the region.
On April 15, 2026, Schrier used her platform to encourage student participation in an annual event: “A reminder that local high school students have until next Monday, April 20 to apply for the 2026 Congressional Art Competition! The winning artwork of our district’s competition will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol.” The Congressional Art Competition is held annually across congressional districts nationwide and aims to showcase young artistic talent by displaying selected works at the U.S. Capitol.
These messages reflect Rep. Schrier’s engagement with cultural celebrations, social service organizations, and youth programs within her district.
