Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Washington’s 8th district, posted a series of updates on January 26, 2026, covering topics from local sports to healthcare concerns and community recovery efforts.

In a celebratory post regarding a major sporting event, Schrier wrote: “We’re going to the Super Bowl! Congratulations to an amazing team. Let’s win it all!” (January 26, 2026).

Later that day, she shared her visit to a local institution affected by natural disasters: “I stopped by the Northwest Railway Museum recently to learn about how flood damages have impacted the museum and the surrounding community. Thank you Mayor Mayhew and Miller for meeting with us to discuss recovery efforts.” (January 26, 2026).

Addressing healthcare issues faced by her constituents, Schrier posted: “I continue to hear stories from constituents with Medicare Advantage plans about how insurance companies continue to override the decisions of their doctors and deny them care. This is flat-out unacceptable—doctors should be making your medical decisions, not multi-billion” (January 26, 2026).

Schrier has represented Washington’s 8th congressional district since replacing Dave Reichert in 2019. She was born in Los Angeles in 1968 and resides in Sammamish. Schrier holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
