Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a member of the U.S. House representing Washington’s 8th District, shared updates on her official X account regarding recent events and advocacy efforts.

On March 19, 2026, Schrier wrote about honoring a local service member: “Together with Washington Delegation colleagues today, I had the opportunity to honor the life and service of Captain Ariana Savino of Covington. As we mourn together with her loved ones, we take solace in knowing that her courage, her passion for flying, and her love of country” (March 19, 2026).

Later that day, she highlighted a meeting focused on health care access: “It was great to meet with Washington representatives from the American Optometric Association to talk about the importance of lowering costs for families and increasing access to vision care for seniors and Veterans. Thank you for your advocacy!” (March 19, 2026).

On March 20, Schrier addressed constituents regarding weather-related risks in her district: “Flooding and increased landslide risks across the Eighth District may continue through the weekend. Please view the important resources below for up-to-date information, and know that my office is monitoring evolving weather conditions. FOR EMERGENCIES, CALL 911 OR TEXT SHELTER” (March 20, 2026).

Washington’s Eighth Congressional District covers both suburban and rural areas east of Seattle. The region has experienced flooding concerns in past years due to its geography and seasonal weather patterns.
