Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., U.S. Representative for Washington’s 8th Congressional District, shared several updates with her constituents on social media in late March 2026.
On March 28, Rep. Schrier posted about a meeting focused on education and workforce development: “I had a great meeting with the WA Association for Career and Technical Education to discuss how to support teachers, students, and local industries in #WA08 at the federal level. Thank you for your advocacy! https://t.co/GuK0AKY1Ka”
The following day, she provided information relevant to residents affected by recent severe weather events: “Important Update for #WA08: Following the severe snow and windstorms that occurred March 11 – 13 this year, the USDA has allowed SNAP recipients to report food loss for households in King, Chelan, Kittitas, Pierce, and Snohomish counties.
Please contact 877-501-2233 by April 2nd”. This update comes after a series of storms caused significant disruptions in these areas earlier in March.
On March 29 as well, Rep. Schrier reminded local students of an opportunity to participate in a national art contest: “Local high school artists: A reminder that my office is currently accepting submissions for the 2026 Congressional Art Competition! The winning artwork of our district’s competition will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol.
