Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 8th district, shared several updates on May 19, 2025, via her social media platform.
On May 19, Schrier expressed her honor in presenting Robert Woodworth, a local Vietnam Veteran, with a commemorative pin to recognize his service to the nation. She invited others who are Vietnam Veterans and interested in receiving a pin to contact her office. “I was honored to present Robert Woodworth, a local Vietnam Veteran, with a commemorate pin to recognize his service to our nation.”
Later that day, Schrier criticized House Republicans for attempting to allow oil and gas companies to bypass environmental laws through financial means. She described this as a “pay to play” scheme that poses significant risks to local communities and landowners. “House Republicans are trying to allow oil and gas companies to pay millions to bypass all environmental laws.”
In another update from May 19, Rep. Schrier extended her best wishes to Lucia Flores-Wiseman from Maple Valley as she competed in the finale of NBC’s The Voice. “Wishing the best of luck to Lucia Flores-Wiseman from Maple Valley as she competes in the @NBCTheVoice finale tonight!”
Kim Schrier has been representing Washington’s 8th District since replacing Dave Reichert in 2019. Born in Los Angeles in 1968, she resides in Sammamish and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
