Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 8th district, made several public remarks regarding recent activities and events through a series of tweets. Since 2019, Schrier has been active in her role, succeeding former U.S. Congress member Dave Reichert.

On April 22, 2025, Rep. Schrier commented on the completion of a significant infrastructure update, stating “The Enumclaw Senior Center is a cherished hub for local seniors, providing a place of community for an elderly population that needs it most.” She further shared her satisfaction in securing $700,000 in federal funding to update the center’s roof.

In a separate tweet posted on April 23, 2025, Rep. Schrier expressed her sorrow over a recent terrorist incident, saying “I am deeply saddened by the senseless acts of violence and the loss of innocent lives caused by the terrorist attack in Jammu and Pahalgam.” She extended her heartfelt sympathies to the victims and their families, underscoring the American people’s solidarity with those affected.

Later that day, Rep. Schrier discussed her visit to a local resource center, tweeting “It was wonderful to visit the @TavonCenter again! They provide an incredible resource for adults with disabilities in our community.” Schrier highlighted the critical role of Medicaid funding in sustaining programs like those at the Tavon Center and reaffirmed her opposition to proposed Medicaid cuts.

Kim Schrier was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1968 and currently resides in Sammamish. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
