Motorists can look forward to road improvements in Chelan County as a chip sealing project is underway.
Road improvements began June 23 and are expected to last until early August although allowances should be made for weather or equipment issues that may cause extended work, according to a press release from Chelan County. The county in Washington also noted wildfires have had a history of causing delays in the past.
Crews began in the Cashmere District with plans to move forward to the Leavenworth District followed by the Chelan District and ending with the Wenatchee District. The county will post updates on its Facebook page, allowing the public to keep up with crew’s progress. The list of roads in addition to a map of the roads slated for chip sealing is available on the county's website.
The public is asked to exercise caution new crews and avoid work areas if possible.
