A judge rejected an argument that Gov. Jay Inslee's emergency orders involving COVID-19 should end, NW News Network reported.
Chelan County Judge Kristin Ferrera opted to not issue an injunction and sided with the state in the case, saying that she did not have enough evidence on how the emergency orders harmed the plaintiffs.
Zach Jones, an attorney for the state, argued that the state and the health department don't think the emergency is over yet.
“The Chelan-Douglas Health District declared a state of emergency as well and the health district apparently thinks that an emergency still exists because they haven’t rescinded that state of emergency,” Jones told NW News Network.
Joel Ard, an attorney for the plaintiffs, argued that the real threat was over because that threat was that hospitals would become overwhelmed and that didn't happen, according to NW News Network.
