Do Not Flush: The City of Wenatchee would like to make everyone aware of a new disposable wipe law that went into effect on July 1, 2022, this is the date that the “Do Not Flush”
symbol must be on all packaging of disposable wipe products sold in Washington. This includes baby wipes and cleaning wipes.
Disposable wipes that are flushed become a nuisance to the environment and wastewater infrastructure. Nationwide an estimated $440 million is spent removing clogs, also known
as fatbergs, caused by improperly flushed wipes.

The City encourages everyone to not flush disposal wipes down the toilet, but rather properly dispose of the wipes in the trash can to help prevent damage to sewer infrastructure.
