Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 8th district, shared a series of tweets addressing various issues and services on February 17 and 18, 2025. The tweets covered topics from assisting constituents with tours in Washington D.C., to legislative actions concerning Elon Musk, and community impacts of Forest Service layoffs.
On February 17, Rep. Schrier tweeted about travel assistance for those visiting Washington D.C. "If you're traveling to Washington, D.C., soon and would like to tour the Capitol or White House, my office can help! To learn more, please visit my website below." She offered her office's help in organizing tours for visitors.
On February 18, she expressed concerns over Elon Musk's access to IRS records in another tweet. "Unelected Elon Musk is digging through your IRS records for his own personal gain." She announced the introduction of a bill aimed at preventing what she describes as a "hostile takeover" by Musk and called for bipartisan support.
Later that day, Rep. Schrier addressed the impact of Forest Service layoffs on local communities. "The @ForestService layoffs are already hurting our community," she noted the consequences of staffing shortages leading to site closures such as the Denny Creek Trailhead and warned about potential challenges during fire season.
