Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., serving in the U.S. Congress as the representative for Washington's 8th District since 2019, took to social media to share several personal and professional updates. Her tweets reflect both her role as a public servant and her personal journey with health challenges.
On March 30, Rep. Schrier extended warm wishes to her constituents and others celebrating a significant religious holiday. She wrote, "Wishing everyone in the Eighth District and across the globe a joyous Eid al-Fitr! May this day bring you and your loved ones joy and peace. Eid Mubarak!"
The following day, March 31, she shared her involvement in a ceremony to honor Vietnam Veterans. She stated, "I was grateful to have the opportunity to present 21 Vietnam Veterans in Cle Elum with commemorative pins to thank them for their service to our nation." She further invited other Vietnam Veterans interested in receiving a pin to contact her office.
On April 1, Schrier reflected on a personal milestone regarding her health. She mentioned, "April 1st, forty years ago, my doctor told me I had type 1 diabetes (yes, I did ask him if he was kidding). Today, I'm happy to celebrate forty years of living healthy with type 1 diabetes." Her message underscored her journey of managing type 1 diabetes for four decades.
