A Few Reminders for Placing Sidewalk Furniture Along Parade Routes

Newsrelease

It’s almost time for the Washington State Apple Blossom Festival to begin, and here are some reminders for placing sidewalk furniture along the parade route:

  • Parade goers can set out their sidewalk furniture starting at 7:00am on Thursday, April 28th along the parade route. The sidewalk furniture shall not be placed on Mission Street or any portion of Orondo Avenue east of Chelan Avenue. Please remove your sidewalk furniture no later than 7:00pm on Saturday, May 7th.
  • Please take into consideration persons of all levels of mobility when placing out sidewalk furniture so that they will continue to be able to access and use the remaining area of the sidewalk. The City has in interest in maintaining its sidewalks and public rights-of-way in a safe and accessible manner for all.
  • Sidewalk furniture must not obstruct or hinder any gate, driveway, alleyway or street.
  • Please do not place anything other than sidewalk furniture, NO couches, ropes, etc.
For the complete policy regarding placing sidewalk furniture along the parade route, please see Resolution No. 2013-13.
