Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a member of U.S. Congress representing Washington's 8th district, has voiced her concerns on several issues via social media. Schrier, currently serving since 2019, has expressed her opinions on government efficiency, rural healthcare, and trade policy.

In a recent post on April 2, Schrier commented on proposed fiscal policy changes, "Making the government more efficient and cutting wasteful spending is a goal that we all share, but that's not what this is." She further criticized the proposed cuts as being damaging, stating that, "These cuts are reckless, impulsive, irrational, and will only hurt our children, economy, public health, and country."

Later on the same day, Schrier addressed the healthcare needs of rural communities, "I know that many of my constituents who live in rural communities depend on a scarce number of medical providers in their area for essential care." In response, she introduced a bipartisan bill to provide federal grants aimed at enhancing rural healthcare services, stating her pride in taking this legislative step.

On the following day, Schrier criticized ongoing trade policies that she believes will negatively impact local communities. She highlighted agricultural and business sectors, stating, "I'll always work across the aisle and support decisions when they benefit my constituents, but this reckless trade war will be terrible for our community." Reflecting on past experiences, she added, "The last trade war President Trump entered in 2018 seriously harmed family farms and other businesses here in the 8th."
