Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D. has recently engaged her social media audience through a series of messages addressing tariffs, social assistance programs, and her newsletter. Schrier, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing Washington's 8th District since 2019, often highlights policy impacts and her ongoing advocacy efforts.

In a tweet dated April 3, 2025, Schrier expressed concern over recent tariffs, describing them as "the equivalent of the largest tax increase since the Revenue Act of 1968" and cautioning that they "could cost families in Washington State nearly $4,000 per year." She emphasized the financial strain these tariffs might impose as families are already struggling with rising prices. "These tariffs are the equivalent of the largest tax increase since the Revenue Act of 1968 and could cost families in Washington State nearly $4,000 per year at a time when they are already struggling to keep up with prices."

On April 4, 2025, Schrier highlighted her support for the Low Income, Home Energy Assistance Program, stating it is crucial for helping "3371 families in the Eighth District keep their homes warm in the winter." She reaffirmed her ongoing commitment to supporting cost-lowering measures for families. "The Low Income, Home Energy Assistance Program helps 3371 families in the Eighth District keep their homes warm in the winter. Keeping this program is one way to lower costs for thousands of families in our community."

Later that day, she shared a new edition of her newsletter, the Schrier Flyer. "Here is this week's Schrier Flyer!"
