Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 8th district, recently shared her views on critical issues via social media. Her tweets address topics ranging from wildfire management to political appointments and employment decisions impacting forest services.

On February 13, 2025, Rep. Schrier emphasized the increasing severity and frequency of wildfires in the West, advocating for proactive measures to mitigate risks. She announced her introduction of a bipartisan bill aimed at providing essential data to prevent and combat devastating fires. "With wildfires becoming more severe and frequent throughout the West, mitigating risk in our forests is more important now than ever. To address this issue, I introduced a bipartisan bill to provide critical data to prevent and fight devastating fires."

The following day, February 14, 2025, she expressed her discontent with the Senate's decision to confirm RFK Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). She criticized RFK Jr., labeling him an "unqualified conspiracy theorist," and voiced concerns over potential risks to public health stemming from his appointment. "I'm outraged that the Senate has decided to confirm RFK Jr. - an unqualified conspiracy theorist - as the Secretary of @HHSGov. Having him as HHS Secretary puts our lives and national public health at risk."

Later on February 14, 2025, Rep. Schrier condemned President Trump's decision to dismiss numerous Forest Service employees tasked with safeguarding communities against wildfires. She described this action as "reckless" and harmful to the safety of residents in Washington’s Eighth District."President Trump's pathetic decision to fire thousands of hardworking @forestservice employees who protect our communities from devastating wildfires is beyond reckless. It’s dangerous, shameful, and an attack on the safety of the Eighth District."
