Rep. Kim Schrier, M.D., a congresswoman serving Washington's 8th district since 2019, communicated concerns regarding policies and market integrity through a series of tweets on April 11, 2025. Schrier, who assumed office after Dave Reichert, has consistently highlighted issues critical to her constituents.

In a tweet posted on April 11, 2025, Schrier expressed her discontent with President Trump's tariffs, indicating their negative impact. She stated, "We’ve seen the devastating impacts of President Trump’s tariffs before - his 2018 trade war decimated Washington farmers and raised prices. There is no strategy behind these tariffs, and working Washingtonians will feel the brunt of the President’s erratic decisions." Schrier emphasized that the tariffs lack a clear strategy and could harm Washington state residents.

Later on the same day, Schrier addressed concerns over potential market manipulation by President Trump, asserting Congress's duty to safeguard financial markets. She tweeted, "Congress has a responsibility to ensure the integrity of our financial markets, and President Trump's manipulation of the market on Wednesday leaves serious questions to be answered. Here's what I want to know and what you should want to know: Who in the administration traded." Schrier's post implies a need for transparency and accountability within the administration.

Additionally, Schrier shared a link to her weekly update, known as the "Schrier Flyer." On April 11, 2025, she posted, "Here is this week's Schrier Flyer!" This segment is intended to keep her constituents informed on her work and the ongoing developments.

Kim Schrier, born in Los Angeles in 1968, resides in Sammamish. She is an alumna of the University of California, Berkeley, where she completed her BS in 1991. She has been actively serving since her election to the U.S. Congress.
